Medical weight loss at Coordinated Health starts with an appointment with endocrinologist Lakshmi Kannan, MD, who will help you develop a plan to lose excess weight while controlling health conditions associated with obesity like diabetes, high blood pressure, and sleep apnea.

Your treatment plan may include a combination of medications and nutrition counseling.


Medications are used to slow your digestion so that you won’t feel hungry so frequently.

Nutrition counseling

Nutrition counseling is focused on developing a healthy eating plan changing your relationship to food through a personalized program.

You will learn to:

  • Set nutrition goals, including daily calorie intake
  • Read food labels
  • Understand how much of certain nutrients to incorporate into your daily diet
  • Eat the right variety of foods
  • Develop healthy meal plans (portion sizes, meal prepping, food journaling, etc.)
  • Track your progress
  • Keep weight loss steady and healthy

Fitness coaching
